The Beginners Guide to Arrows

When looking at or getting into archery, the first thing that comes to mind are the bow and arrow. The bow is a great weapon for beginners to start using since they’re easy to learn and get the hang of. You don’t have to be a hunter to use a bow or crossbow and there are plenty of activities to keep you busy like archery games. The average arrows and bows are made of wood, fiberglass, aluminum, or carbon to keep your equipment light. The length and stiffness of the arrow come into play as well as what color the shaft is. The same thing goes for a crossbow arrow and a compound bow arrow even though they’re a different type. Every arrow has a different draw weight when it’s pulled and the colors help camouflage the arrow so that game doesn’t see it and run away instantly. The least expensive type of arrows are wooden but require you take take care and maintain them if you want them to last. They’re more quiet than carbon and aluminum but are less stiff so you have to bend them straight if they get curved. Carbon arrows are more tough and don’t bend like wooden arrows do. They can last a lot longer if you constantly check for cracks on the arrow. Aluminum arrows are more heavy than the other two and are one of the more popular arrows due to the consistency. Fiberglass arrows aren’t used much in hunting and are more for youth archery. You don’t want to rush getting archery equipment and get the wrong supplies by mistake. Take our time and find out what you need because every type of arrow gives you a different kind of shooting experience.
